THE FABULOUS EXPERIENCE OF SOUTHERN HOSPITALITY
If Jazz, Soul, Funk, Rock, R&B and Hip Hop came from
the Blues, then the South is the center of American music.
Southern hospitality is marinated in the idea that we are better when we are together. The essence of
this culture isn’t a feeling, but rather a way of thinking that focuses on the welfare of others. At Red Hot
& Blue, a Southern Grill & Bar, hospitality is not an option. It’s an injunction. Everybody is family, and
every gathering is a reunion.
The soul-ish area of southern hospitality, those emotions, the mind, the psyche and the
memories have always been expressed through the music of the Blues. While Blues
emerged from the culture of African-American slaves in the southern United States and
the Mississippi Delta, this art form is the mother of today’s Jazz, R&B and Rock. Legends
such as Robert Johnson, Bessie Smith, Big Mama Thornton, Muddy Waters, B.B. King, Stevie
Ray Vaughn, the Rolling Stones, Fleetwood Mac, and Duke Ellington have seasoned this
country with the Blues.
Now we’re fixin’ to tell you about our food at Red Hot & Blue, the foundation of what southern hospitality
really is. As you know, “luv” is put in every recipe and every recipe is a secret. So don’t even ask, it is
southernly improper. By the way, if you feel like anything is not up to par, always say
“honey or sugar, we need a little more ‘luv’ in this”.
From the Delta to the Bayou, from the Mountains to the Coastal Plains, our menu is full
of the imagination and love that makes the South a place where everyone feels
welcome. Of course, no trip through the Blue Ridge Mountains or the Coastal Plains would be
complete without a little barbecue. Slow-smoked over hickory logs using low temperatures and long
cooking times, the ribs, pulled pork and chicken are the best you’ll ever taste in a building that hasn’t
already been condemned. Yes, while you are sleeping, we at Red Hot & Blue are creating “luv” and thinking
about you.
Southern hospitality at Red Hot & Blue is where you, our guest, deserve:
- To be treated warm-heartedly and graciously
- To be cradled and rocked in the ambience of down-home blues
- To have food prepared with “luv”
